Kinesis Publishes Detailed Mobile Survey Traffic Statistics

AUSTIN, TX (July 19, 2012) – Kinesis Survey Technologies LLC (Kinesis), the industry leader for future-proof market research software solutions, has published a new whitepaper entitled Online Survey Statistics from the Mobile Future outlining mobile survey traffic statistics.

The whitepaper includes detailed statistics about Kinesis’ online survey platform usage, and specifically the incidence at which various traffic metrics now occur on mobile devices versus desktop devices. Kinesis was among the very first market research software providers to support mobile device usage, and as a result its mobile traffic rates are currently somewhat higher than those reported by other software platforms.  The Kinesis whitepaper data is provided as a predictor of what the market research industry as a whole will likely experience as mobile usage among survey respondents continues to increase, as well as how the current lack of mobile device support may be biasing online research studies.

Statistics detailed in the whitepaper were compiled based upon metadata from all survey traffic hosted on Kinesis’ SaaS infrastructure during the first quarter of 2012. Traffic breakouts are provided by device type, browser type, and geographic region. Also included are data relative to completion and dropout rates by device.
